About the Week Ahead spread
The Week Ahead spread gives one card to each day of the coming week, from Monday to Sunday. Each card is read as the tone or theme of that day: a quality to bring, something to look out for, or a reminder of what may matter. It describes the weather of the week rather than forecasting events.
Draw it on a Sunday evening, or on whichever day starts your week, and check back each night to see where the card showed up. Over a few weeks it becomes a gentle journal of how your days actually go, and a good way to learn the deck in real life.

How to lay it out with your own deck
- Shuffle while thinking about the week ahead as a whole, not any single plan in it.
- Lay four cards in a row from left to right: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
- Below them, lay three more from left to right, starting under Tuesday: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Turn the whole week face up and look at it as a pattern first, then read each day in turn.

How to read it
- Look at the week as a whole before the single days. Where do the brightest cards fall, and where do the heavier ones cluster?
- A hard card on a given day is a reason to go gently that day, not to dread it. It may only mean one thing needs more care than usual.
- The bottom row holds Friday to Sunday. Compare it with the top row to see whether the weekend looks like a rest from the week or a continuation of it.
- Each evening, read that day's card again and note where it fitted. The following week's reading will mean more for it.
Questions
- How do you do a weekly tarot reading?
- Shuffle with the coming week in mind and lay seven cards, one for each day from Monday to Sunday. Read each as the theme or tone of its day, then look at the week as a whole for repeated suits, Major Arcana or a change of mood from start to finish.
- When is the best time to draw a week ahead spread?
- Sunday evening is popular because the whole week is still ahead. Any day that starts your week works just as well. What matters most is coming back to the cards each evening to see how each day compared.
- What if one day gets a difficult card?
- Treat it as a note to take that day gently, not a warning of bad news. A hard card often points to a moment needing patience or honesty. Seeing it in advance can help you plan a little more room into the day.
