Water in tarot

The suit of Cups 路 signs Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

feeling 路 relationship 路 intuition 路 flow

Water is the element of feeling and connection, given to the Cups and, among the trumps, to The Hanged Man, surrendered and seeing the world another way. Its signs are Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces: the protected pool, the deep well and the open sea. Water receives, reflects and takes the shape of what holds it.

In a reading

Many water cards point to emotions, relationships and intuition. Too much water drowns judgement in mood; too little leaves things dry and distant.

Correspondences follow the Golden Dawn system the Rider鈥揥aite鈥揝mith deck was made within (tropical zodiac, dates approximate; they shift by a day in some years). Other traditions assign some cards differently. See the full table for all 78 cards.
