Air in tarot

The suit of Swords 路 signs Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

mind 路 truth 路 communication 路 conflict

Air is the element of thought and speech, given to the Swords and, among the trumps, to The Fool, light enough to step off a cliff. Its signs are Libra, Aquarius and Gemini: the scales, the water-bearer's ideals and the twins' quick talk. Air cuts through to the truth, and can cut the one holding the blade.

In a reading

Many air cards suggest a situation being decided by ideas, words and principles, often with some conflict. Too much air brings anxiety; too little, confusion.

Correspondences follow the Golden Dawn system the Rider鈥揥aite鈥揝mith deck was made within (tropical zodiac, dates approximate; they shift by a day in some years). Other traditions assign some cards differently. See the full table for all 78 cards.
