Venus in tarot

Rules Taurus and Libra · 5 decan cards

love · beauty · pleasure · harmony

Venus is the planet of love and of all that is lovely, and her trump is The Empress, abundant and at ease in a ripening field. She rules Taurus and Libra, earthly pleasure and graceful balance. Her decans include the Four of Wands' celebration, the Seven of Cups' daydreams and the Nine of Pentacles' cultivated garden. Where Venus touches a card, attraction and enjoyment are in play.

In a reading

Venusian cards bring relationships, comfort and creativity. They ask whether pleasure is feeding you or keeping you from something harder.

Correspondences follow the Golden Dawn system the Rider–Waite–Smith deck was made within (tropical zodiac, dates approximate; they shift by a day in some years). Other traditions assign some cards differently. See the full table for all 78 cards.
